Superstar Ajay Devgn, who was recently seen in Golmaal Again, is riding high on the huge success of the film. Released on Oct 20th, Golmaal Again has proved out to be the biggest blockbuster of 2017 and now inching closer to the 200 crore mark at the domestic box-office and 300 crore mark at the global box-office. Now, Ajay Devgn is looking forward to his next movies that will release in 2018 which includes, ‘Raid’ ‘Total Dhamaal’ and ‘Rom-Com’.
Ajay Devgn is currently shooting for Raid and it has been already reported that Total Dhamaal shoot will kick-start by the mid of December. Directed by Indra Kumar, The movie also stars Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaffery, Aashish Choudhary, Riteish Deshmukh and Anil Kapoor. Earlier there have been speculations that Ajay Devgn will be doing a small role in this out and out comedy-entertainer and his remuneration was said to be 35 crore for his 30 days of work. But the latest update is that his role has been extended by almost two weeks and become a full-fledged one and his remuneration for it has increased too.
According to a source close to the production team, “It’s true that Ajay’s role has been extended by 10-15 days in Total Dhamaal and he will shoot for 40-45 days for the film. Ajay is the main lead in the film, something like in Golmaal series. Ajay’s role is a quirky one and his character is pivotal to the film. It’s the kind of role Sanjay Dutt has played in the earlier two installments of Dhamaal. This role was specially written for him keeping Ajay in mind and he immediately gave his nod when the director approached him to extend the number of days of shooting required.
While talking about the movie, Indra Kumar said, “It’s Ajay Devgn’s film and his role is simply outstanding. He is there right from the beginning to the end. We are doing a recce in Uttar Pradesh and will start shooting for the film with Ajay from December.” reports Bollywood Hungama.
The first installment of Dhamaal was released in 2007 and it was one of the funniest film of the decade. The movie impressed everyone and still remembered as a classic comedy film. The second installment ‘Double Dhamaal’ was released in 2011 but was not very impressive. However, it collected good revenues at the box-office but failed to impress audience as well as critics. Now with the bigger and better cast, the makers want to take this franchise to next level. Total Dhamaal will release in Summer 2018.
