Megastar Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai, which was released on Dec 22nd, has completed two weeks in the theatres on a bumper note. In this 14 days period, Tiger Zinda Hai has broken many box-office records and it is all set to enter in the prestigious 300 crore club very very soon.
Sequel of the 2012 Blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger, TZH was released with a massive buzz among fans and upon release, the film received phenomenal response from both audience and critics. With it’s thrilling story and high octane action sequences by the leading duo, Tiger Zinda Hai has impressed most of the viewers. The highly positive word of mouth and mega stardom of Salman Khan helped the film to achieve this feat in this short period.
After taking the biggest opening of 2017 in Bollywood, Tiger Zinda Hai minted 206.04 crore in the first week from 4600 screens nationwide and became highest grossing Bollywood movie of this year in the first week itself surpassing Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again.
In the second weekend as well, Tiger Zinda Hai took good jump and collected 48.71 crore with 11.56 crore on 2nd Friday, 14.92 crore on 2nd Saturday and 22.23 crore coming on 2nd Sunday from 3500 screens across India.
On 2nd Monday, it maintained a similar pace and minted 18.04 crore. Then in normal weekdays, as usual the spy-thriller faced abrupt drops and garnered the business of 7.83 crore on 2nd Tuesday and 5.84 crore on 2nd Wednesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Thursday, Tiger Zinda Hai collected 5.09 crore with further dip and it has taken it’s two weeks domestic total to 291.55 crore.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Tiger Zinda Hai is expected to cross the 300 crore mark by today or tomorrow and with this, Salman Khan will become the first Indian actor to have three movies in the 300 crore club. Previously, Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320 cr) and Sultan (300.45 cr) managed to enter in this club.
