Kannada movie ‘Kurukshetra’ went on floors last month and currently the shooting is going on in full swing at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The movie is based on Indian epic Mahabharata and the story is centered upon Duryodhana. The film will be a retelling of the Mahabharata from the point of view of the Kauravas. Challenging Star Darshan is playing the role of Duryodhana in this big budget epic film.
Now, the latest update is that Sonu Sood has been roped in the movie to play the role of Arjuna. Earlier, there have been many speculations that makers wanted to cast a Kannada actor for this role but they couldn’t find any suitable actor. Sonu Sood himself confirmed this news by taking it to his Twitter handle. He wrote – Let today be the start of something new ! Journey of #Arjun in #Kurukshetra begins!⚔️??
Sonu Sood is not new for Sandalwood as he has previously worked in Kannada film industry with Sudeep for Vishnuvardhana. Now he is getting to work alongside some of the biggest actors of Kannada cinema.
Arjun Sarja is playing Karna in the movie while Ambarish will be seen portraying the role of Bheeshma. V Ravichandran will be essaying the role of Krishna and Saikumar is playing Shakuni. The star cast of this magnum opus also includes Sneha, Haripriya, Regina Cassandra and Nikhil Kumar in various roles.
Ace director Naganna is helming this project while Muniratna Naidu is bankrolling it which is being made with a whooping budget of around 75 crs and is expected to hit screens on Sankranthi 2018. The movie will also be dubbed in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malyalam.
