Mastermind director Shankar is one of the top director of Indian cinema in the present time. He is known for his envy-inducing and awe-inspiring magnum opuses. Shankar’s movies are also known for their lengthy runtime as his almost all movies are nearly 3 hours long. This lengthy runtime irks the audience of present generation and his movie ‘I’ was criticised only for it’s slow screenplay and runtime (188 mins).
Shankar is coming again with his next big venture 2.0 which is made on a lavish budget of over 400 crs. As the budget is such whooping, Shankar doesn’t want to take any risk this time. 2.0 will have a crisp runtime of 2:20 hours (140 minutes). He has decided to keep the movie short since they are planning for a global release and that is highly recommend for such movie which has International appeal.
During the film’s audio launch event in Dubai, 2.0’s Editor Anthony surprised everyone by revealing that 2.0 will have a run-time of just 2 hour 20 minutes. Anthony further revealed that 2.0 is shot on 3D format and that audiences will experience the movie better only if the film’s duration is kept under 150 minutes. 2.0 features Superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. AR Rahman has composed music for the film.
