Superstar Mahesh Babu’s SPYder, which was released on sep 27th, opened to mixed response from both audience and critics. The film is struggling at the box-office but the makers are still getting good revenues from some territories. Now, Spyder is all set to create a unique record in the entire Indian cinema. The film will be dubbed into Vietnamese language. Well, this is really a unthinkable feat by the movie.
But it’s not new for Indian movies to release in International languages. Many Bollywood movies and South Indian movies release in foreign countries. Baahubali was also dubbed in several popular International languages. Rajinikanth’s Kabali was also dubbed and released in Malay language as he has a huge fan following there. Aamir Khan’s movies always get dubbed in Chinese and earn superb revenues. Dangal has grossed over 1200 crs in China alone. Rajinikanth’s next 2.0 will also be released in China.
Coming to SPYder, this is the first time when a Indian movie will be released in Vietnamese language. In case if you are wondering why, here goes it. Actually, SPYder action choreographer Peter Hein is the reason behind this release. Even though he is a Tamilian, he is of Vietnamese origin. His family settled down in Tamil Nadu long back migrating from Vietnam. On the other hand, Spyder’s pre-interval rollercoaster action sequence was also shot at Ho Chin Minh city in Vietnam, so he wants the film to be released in his native language as he felt the movie will connect with the people there.
In the past, Mahesh Babu’s Athadu was also dubbed and released in Polish language that was well received by the audience. Now, they are expecting the same result for their Spyder in Vietnamese language. Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Tagore Madhu, SPYder also stars Rakul Preet Singh and SJ Suryah in key roles.
