This year looks very much exciting and thrilling for Chiyaan Vikram as the actor has many different kinds of projects in his kitty. Awaiting the release of his Tamil action-entertainer Sketch this week on January 12th, Vikram has two more films lined up, Saamy Square and Dhruva Natchathiram. On Sunday, Vikram announced his fourth project of the year which is indeed the biggest film of his career till date. To be directed by RS Vimal, it will be a Rs 300 Crore mega budget epic magnum opus, titled “Mahavir Karna”.
RJ Vimal, who is known for his debut critically acclaimed biographical romantic-drama Ennu Ninte Moideen in 2015, originally planned to cast Malyalam actor Prithviraj in this movie and the announcement was made early last year. But due to some unknown reasons, the project didn’t materialise and now it has been taken over by Chiyaan Vikram. Earlier Vimal wanted to make it a regional film with a budget of Rs 60 crore but now it will be a International level film which will be one of the costliest film of Indian cinema.
Announcing the project, Chiyaan Vikram took to his Official Instagram handle, “A sun rises as the sun sets. Announcing ‘Mahavir Karna’, a hindi magnum opus. ⭐️ing Chiyaan Vikram. Director RS Vimal. Producer United Film Kingdom,New York. #mahavirkarna”.
RJ Vimal also posted a photo statement on his Facebook page which read, “United Film Kingdom announces it’s Magnum Opus ‘Mahavir Karna’ starring Chiyaan Vikram. This mega multilingual primarily shot in Hindi, boasts a casting coup of sorts with the best talent from across India, to be announced in the coming weeks. RS Vimal will don the director’s cap with the creme da la creme of technicians, joining hands with him from across the globe. The 300 cr film slated to release in December 2019 will go on the floors in October this year.”
Mahavir Karna will be a multilingual film, which will be shot mainly in Hindi. The film film showcase Mahabharata from the point of view of Karna. It will start rolling from October this year and the makers are planning to release it during Christmas next year. Besides Vikram, actors from Bollywood and technicians from Hollywood would collaborate in this project.
