Last friday (Sep 15th 2018) has proved out to be a disaster friday for Telugu film industry. As many as five films released yesterday but none of them succeed to impress the audience and critics. All these films were declared box-office debacles from the first show itself. Audience as well as exhibitors were hopeful that at least one or two films would work decent but all of them received poor to worst talk.
Out of 5 releases, 4 films were straight Telugu while the other one was a dubbed film. Comedian-turned-hero Sunil’s much delayed film Ungarala Ram Babu was expected to entertain movie goers but that too disappointed the audience with the regular story and boring scenes.
Even worse was the case of other releases like Kathalo Rajakumari, Srivalli, Veedevadu, and the dubbed film Sarasudu as they went totally unnoticed. Director KV Vijyandra Prasad’s Srivalli, which was highly promoted by SS Rajamouli and Ram Charan, frustrated audience with it’s confusing plot and worst screenplay.
As all these films have got dud response, the trade and audience have pinned their hopes on Jr NTR’s upcoming biggie Jai Lava Kusa which is all set for a grand release on September 21st. The film is expected to take a thundering start at the box-office which will give some relief to the distributors. After Jai Lava Kusa, Mahesh Babu’s Spyder and Sharwanand’s Mahanubhavudu will keep the theatres packed over the next two-three weeks.
