Power Star Pawan Kalyan has once again proved that why he is called the biggest crowd-puller of Telugu cinema. No, literally and this time he has done this magic with his latest outing Agnyaathavaasi. The movie, which released yesterday i.e. January 10th, with a lot of hype, expectations and buzz around it, has taken the box-office by storm. Agnyaathavaasi minted a worldwide gross of Rs 60.5 crore on the first day which is phenomenal.
As expected, the film has set a Non-Baahubali record in TFI as the opening day numbers of Agnyaathavaasi stood just after SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali. In South India, the film recorded 4th biggest opening of all time after Baahubali 2, Kabali and Baahubali : The Beginning. Agnyaathavaasi is expected to cross the 100 crore gross mark worldwide very soon. If not today, then the film film will achieve this feat by tomorrow for sure.
Agnyaathavaasi collected Rs 26.36 crore Distributor share from the two Telugu states while the Worldwide share stood at whooping Rs 39.2 crore. No doubt, the film has done staggering business but considering the cost and theatrical rights value, the numbers are just below average. Agnyaathavaasi WW Theatrical Rights are valued at whooping 122+ crore so the film has to collect 125+ crore Distributor share just to recover it’s investment and that is not an easy task.
As the film is getting mixed response from the audience, it will be interesting to see if the film shows some growth in the coming days or not. It has to be noticed that Suriya’s Gang and Balakrishna’s Jai Simha is also hitting screens tomorrow so Agnyaathavaasi will face some tough competition for sure.
Directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by Haarika and Hassine Creations, Agnyaathavaasi also stars Keerthy Suresh, Anu Emmanuel, Aadhi Pinisetty and Boman Irani. Anirudh Ravichandar has composed music for the film.
